I'm looking to drop it into the intake side of my M50 non-vanos.  I'll also need the tray and lifters.

Let me know if you've got any!

Thanks in advance!

I  would recommend you to go with narrower setup all around. I used 225/45/17 Hakka's and Blizzak's for past 4 winters on my ZHP and it handled great (both snow/slush/dry pavement). With wider setup in rear (also the drive wheels)  you may not be able to plow through the snow that we get here.

I'll be driving my E46 330Ci this winter and I'm thinking of going with 225/45ish/17 Q-rated in front and 245/40ish/17 Q-rated in the rear.

Is a staggered set up recommended over the same size all around?

I've added the Dec 2009 newsletter to the newsletter forum   http://bmwccottawa.org/smf/index.php?topic=877.0

This is the last 'catch-up' newsletter. Moving forward back to the regular schedule (September has just finished being assembled).

Many thanks to those who've contributed: you folks make the newsletter what it is. So a plea to everyone: send more stuff! DIY, tips, self-help, ramblings, muses, childhood stories, desires, dirty-deeds (done dirt cheap or not :-), anything and everything car related. People will enjoy your contributions. Photos in particular please especially with people in them (more interesting that way), but again, I'll take anything especially if its not available elsewhere (more value to the newsletter that way).

Cheers,
hagen

I just use the Mobil-1 10W30 Super Syn for high mileage engines in my '01 330Ci.. I think it's 8.99 or thereabouts at CT. Has been working very well.

For in depth technical details you may want to visit Bob is the Oil Guy. You will find plenty of information there along with technical data backing up the OIL. Here are the highlights of why its a good deal for your car:

1) Readily available BMW LL - 01 approved besides the dealer 5w30 which is about a $1 more give or take
2) Great oil analysis results from other BMW fanatics on BOTG, e46fanatics, etc
3) Most readily available BMW LL - 01 approved ...Smiley

As long as you are using approved oils and following manufacturer guidelines you should be ok. In the end only way to find out exactly what oil will be good for is an oil analysis on this oil and whatever you may be using now.

BTW, if you know other BMW -LL01 approved oil that is readily available and is cheaper than dealer oil I would like to know!

Hope this helped just a bit.
