History of the Wheel

About a week ago, a teacher from New York State sent us an email.

Hi BMW Club of Ottawa,

My name is Rachel and I volunteer in an after school education program for a great group of kids! We came across your website https://bmwccottawa.org/resources-and-links/ while discussing the significance of cars, and in particular, how inventions and discoveries have impacted the world! We want to say thank you!

Two of my girls, Emily and Melissa, did some research at home and brought in this great article for me to see about the invention of the wheel! - https://store.intellaliftparts.com/c/history-of-the-wheel.html

I suggested that they share this with you because it is so relevant to what we are learning and because I want to impress upon them that by reaching out and simply asking others, things can be accomplished that the girls might not otherwise think can. We think that your other visitors may enjoy it also!

Would you please add a link to the article for them on your page? They would be so proud to see that you did, even if it's only for a little while. I also don't think it hurt that I promised the whole group a pizza day if you did! Please let me know if you’d be willing so I can share the exciting news with them!

Thank you in advance!

That got us thinking, we wouldn't be the club driving around in our BMWs without a number of key inventions. The most important and perhaps oldest invention is that of the "wheel". There is a dedicated section in our Resources and Links area which will contain links to Automotive Inventions and History. The BMW Club also challenges all of you to find inventions and if you have any suggestions you want to add to our list, send them to our email account at: info@bmwccottawa.org
